To travel to Croatia, U.S. citizens need a passport valid for at least three months beyond your departure date

Flying into Croatia's capital Zagreb (ZAG) is the more practical option when flying from Louisville. Flight schedules are more frequent and less seasonal. Travel distance drive time is about 2 hours from Zagreb to Opatija. The fastest and simplest form of transportation would be a car rental or private transfer.

Rijeka is about a 40 min drive from downtown Opatija. This is a great option for people that are already in Europe or can easily position to a European hub that serves RJK flight times. Rental car, private transportation and Uber are also options if selecting this airport.

While we love your little ones, we've decided to keep our wedding an adults-only event.

Is there a dress code?

Black Tie Attire Requested.Cocktail attire is requested for The Night Before. The ceremony and reception will be held at Villa Ariston.

Can I bring a plus one?

Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list due to our venue's capacity. We are only able to accommodate the guests indicated on your invite. Thank you for your understanding!

When do I need to RSVP?

We ask you please RSVP by July 1, 2026.

What is the best way to get to and from all events?

Opatija has Uber and Taxi services. Hotel concierge services are available.

Our Favorite Sea Walk

If you are feeling adventurous, grab your sneakers and take a hike up to Vojak hill tower built in 1911, the highest point in Istria (1401 meters above sea level), offering 360° views.
